Neighbors report threats; Old Town man arrested

An Old Town man who allegedly threatened to kill his neighbors was arrested Sunday on drug and other charges after police found knives stuck in the wall of his apartment.

Old Town police went to an apartment building at 52 Water St. at 8 p.m. when neighbors complained that Raymond Foss, 48, was wielding a hammer and a knife, according to Sgt. Mike Hashey. Foss allegedly stabbed a hallway wall beside one neighbor and said, “I’m going to kill you all,” Hashey said.

Police arrested Foss and obtained a search warrant for his apartment in order to seize the knife. Early Monday morning officers found a folding knife, a fillet knife and three other knives stuck in his apartment wall, along with a 3-foot-tall marijuana plant, marijuana leaves drying on a windowsill, drug paraphernalia and a muscle relaxant for which Foss had no prescription, Hashey said.

Foss was arrested and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief, cultivating marijuana, unlawful possession of a Schedule Z drug, possession of a usable amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia, Hashey said.

Brewer police arrested a man Monday afternoon after he allegedly kicked in two doors and threatened social services workers.

Michael Boucher, 19, allegedly broke through two office doors at 100 Elm St., a group home where he resides, at 12:45 p.m. and threatened to stab and choke workers, according to police. Employees restrained Boucher after he allegedly reached into a closet where utensils are stored and grabbed a kitchen knife.

Boucher was arrested and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon and criminal mischief, according to police.

One man was hospitalized Monday night after a two-car accident at the intersection of Penobscot and Pine streets in Bangor.

Todd Black was traveling south on Pine Street at 10 p.m. when his Dodge Durango collided with a Dodge Stratus, driven by Jonathan McCann, traveling west on Penobscot Street, according to police. Neither man’s age or town of residence was available Monday night.

Black’s vehicle rolled onto its side, slid and struck a curb, and then rolled back upright, police said. Black was taken to Eastern Maine Medical Center, where he was being evaluated Monday night, though police said his injuries did not appear serious.
