WALDOBORO – Six pounds of marijuana, prescription drugs and firearms were seized Monday from a house at 850 Depot St. when police searched the residence.
Harlan H. McLain, 37, and Jodi Michelle Brewer, 22, both of 850 Depot St., were arrested as a result of the search, according to a press release from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department. Both were taken to Lincoln County Jail in Wiscasset, where they were charged with one count each of unlawful trafficking in marijuana, which is a felony.
McLain also was charged with obstructing government administration after allegedly attempting to keep Lincoln County Drug Task Force agents out of his residence.
Waldoboro police and Sheriff’s Department detectives found the marijuana, a large amount of prescription medication and five firearms during the search. They are investigating the types and legality of the medications taken in the search. Additional charges are possible.
McLain and Brewer were released on $1,000 cash bail each, according to the Sheriff’s Department. They are scheduled to appear Wednesday, Dec. 15, in Wiscasset District Court for arraignment.
The Lincoln County Drug Task Force is a multijurisdictional unit composed of officers and deputies from the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Maine State Police, Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department, and the police departments of Wiscasset, Boothbay Harbor, Damariscotta and Waldoboro.
