LEVI MILLER
Miller, a senior on the Belfast cross country team, broke the course record to win the individual title at the Maine Cross Country Festival of Champions held Saturday at Belfast. Miller completed the 5,000-meter course in 15 minutes, 36 seconds, besting the mark of 15:51 set by former Greely of Cumberland Center standout Ben True.
Small School (Classes C-D)
JONAH LIZOTTE
Lizotte, a junior forward for the Greenville soccer team, had two goals and an assist against Vinalhaven, four goals against Rangeley and a goal and two assists against Averill of Hinckley in three Lakers’ victories. Lizotte now has 18 goals and four assists for Greenville, 10-1 after a win against Averill on Monday.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
CAROLINE CASSLING
The goalkeeper for the John Bapst soccer team, Cassling has six shutouts in nine games, including five in a row in games against Orono, Brewer, Foxcroft, MDI and Fort Kent. Cassling, a sophomore, has allowed four goals this season. The Crusaders were fifth in the most recent Heal Point standings for Eastern Maine Class B.
Small School (Classes C-D)
MICHELLE FERRY
Ferry, a junior outside hitter for the Woodland volleyball team, was 26-for-27 from the service line with eight aces, 17 kills, seven assists and 14 digs in two wins last week to help the Dragons move to 11-0. Woodland is ranked second in the Heal Point rankings.
