Free trees are available to anyone who joins the National Arbor Day Foundation in October.
The sugar maple, scarlet oak, sweetgum, red oak, silver maple, white dogwood, Washington hawthorn and red maple trees were selected for the Trees for America campaign because of their colorful foliage.
The saplings will be shipped to new members in time for planting between Nov. 1 and Dec. 10, and are guaranteed to grow – trees that die will be replaced, free of charge.
To join, send a $10 membership contribution to Autumn Classic Trees, National Arbor Day Foundation, 100 Arbor Ave., Nebraska City, NE 69410, by Oct. 31 or join online at www.arborday.org.
