TURNER – Jodi Newcombe scored on a penalty stroke with 15:38 remaining to give the Camden Hills Windjammers a 2-1 high school field hockey win over the Leavitt Hornets Friday.

Laura Schelble, off an assist from Gwen Maddox, had tied the game early in the second half for 6-4-1 Camden Hills. Georgia Smith made three saves on four shots.

Lindsey Gilbert scored for 5-8 Leavitt, and Kristin Schepper made 11 saves on 13 shots.

JV: Leavitt 1-0

Nokomis 3, Bangor 1

At Newport, Kellye Palmer scored two first half goals and assisted on another to help lead the host Nokomis Warriors by Bangor.

Michelle Varden scored off a penalty corner and Alyssa Bragdon notched an assist for the 9-3-1 Warriors. Kirsten Gould made five saves on six shots.

Alexa Steele scored on an Ingrid Alquist assist for the 3-10 Rams. Sarah Hanselman and Sarah Frisk combined for six saves on nine shots.

JV: Bangor 3-0

Girls soccer

Washington Acad. 6, Sumner 1

At East Machias, Kayla Wood scored three minutes into the second half to snap a 1-1 tie and propel the Raiders past the Tigers of East Sullivan.

Sarah Rushforth scored three goals for 9-1 WA, and Samantha Rodriguez and Lauren Finn posted a goal each. Meghan Rose made three saves on four shots.

Kylie Beaudoin scored for 1-12 Sumner, and Jordan Reed made 32 saves on 40 shots.

Lee 4, Penobscot Valley 2

At Howland, Shelby Pickering scored two goals in the second half to provide the winning margin for the Lee Academy Pandas.

Aarika Ritchie and Brooke Harris each scored a goal for the 11-0 Pandas. Jackie Moors made eight saves on 15 shots.

Tiffany Brown scored on a Randy Rackley assist and Holly Drost scored unassisted for the 10-2 Howlers of Howland. Jen Plourde saved 12 of 25 shots.

Bangor 2, John Bapst 0

At Bangor, Serena Dubois scored both goals unassisted to lead the Rams past the John Bapst Crusaders.

Ilyse Angst saved all 21 shots she faced for the 7-5 Rams.

Caroline Cassling made seven saves on nine shots for the 8-3-1 Crusaders.

JV: 1-1

Bucksport 2, Nokomis 0

At Bucksport, Meg Lalonde and Katie Allen each scored first-half goals to spark the Golden Bucks.

Lindsey Gordon and Becky Hutchins each chipped in with an assist for the 7-3-1 winners and Katie Hurd made two saves on five shots.

For 1-11 Nokomis of Newport, Rozlyn Peterson and Danielle White combined for 11 saves on 18 shots.

Central 3, DI-Stonington 0

At Deer Isle, Erica Bropell made three saves to earn the shutout for the Red Devils.

Sadie Chretien, Randy McFeigh, and Rachel Louis scored for 6-5-1 Central of Corinth.

Christina Fifield made 11 saves for the 1-11 Mariners.

Hermon 3, Foxcroft 2

At Dover-Foxcroft, Gillian Miller scored during a goalmouth scramble with five minutes remaining to lead the Hawks to victory.

Chelsea Pottle and Cassie White also scored for the 6-3-4 Hawks. Katie Lane made 15 saves.

For the 5-6 Ponies, Erica Kaufmann and Leslie Martin scored, and Brittany Fadley also had 15 saves.

Boys soccer

Woodland 3, Calais 1

At Calais, Ben Leighton, Adam Knowles, and Cody Sappia (penalty kick) each scored a first-half goal to lead the Dragons past the Blue Devils.

Craig Moody made 19 saves on 36 shots for 4-6 Woodland.

Corey Johnston tallied for 7-7 Calais, also in the first half, and Nick Proyencher made 15 saves on 24 shots.

Geo. Stevens 5, Searsport 0

At Blue Hill, Collin Henry and Mark Ensworth combined for three saves on eight shots to give the Eagles the shutout.

Tyler Cousins backed their effort with a pair of goals, Blake Wessel added a goal and an assist, and Seth Brayton and Tim Carter also scored for 10-2 GSA. Colin Tareila picked up two assists.

Garrett Greenlaw made six saves on 25 shots.

Bucksport 2, Nokomis 2 (2OT)

At Bucksport, Robbie Pushard scored two second-half goals to rally the Golden Bucks from a 2-0 deficit for the tie after two overtimes.

Alex Neslusan assisted on Pushard’s first goal with 17:34 left in regulation and Pushard converted a Caleb Grindle pass about eight minutes later to tie it. Miles Bisher made 18 saves on 21 shots for the 1-8-2 Bucks.

Matt Thornton scored both goals for 1-10-1 Nokomis, the first off a corner kick with about five minutes left in the first half and the second off a penalty kick with about 27 minutes left in regulation. Goalies Wayne May and Brendan Donaldson combined for six saves on 10 shots.

JV: Bucksport 1-0

Bgr. Christian 5, DI-Stonington 2

At Bangor, Eric Sobey led the Bangor Christian offense with two goals and an assist as the Patriots knocked off Deer Isle-Stonington.

Josh Griffin and Ignacio Bustos each had a goal and an assist for the 8-3-1 Patriots. Justin Phinney had a goal while Aaron Wilson and Ryan Weston combined to make six saves on eight shots.

Nick Ciomei scored two unassisted goals for the 5-7 Mariners. Rob Haskell saved four of 15 shots.

Greenville 4, Rangeley 0

At Rangeley, Joe Jardine scored three goals as Greenville knocked Rangeley from the unbeaten ranks.

Jonah Lizotte added a goal and an assist and Kyle Whitman and Ryan Edmundson each had an assist for 10-1 Greenville. Brandon Lavigne made seven saves on eight shots to earn the shutout.

David Duchene made 15 saves on 19 shots for 7-1-2 Rangeley.
