ORONO – The Northern Maine Children’s Water Festival will be held from 9:15 a.m. to 2:20 p.m. today at the University of Maine.
Festivities include stories about the Penobscot River and the Penobscot people, presented both in the Penobscot language and in English, as well as displays presented by the Maine Department of Environmental Protection, Georgia-Pacific, Poland Spring Bottling and the Maine Discovery Museum.
The festival is sponsored by the Maine DEP, the Senator George J. Mitchell Center for Environmental and Watershed Research, and the College of Education and Human Development at UMaine.
