Arel Gordon

Arel Gordon of the University of Maine has been named the Atlantic 10 Football Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. The sophomore from Rochester, N.Y., returned a kickoff 88 yards for a touchdown and had three returns for 134 yards in the Black Bears’ 29-25 victory over Richmond on Saturday.

Brittany Howe

Brittany Howe of the University of Maine earned America East Player of the Week honors for volleyball. She averaged 4.33 kills and 0.58 blocks per game, including a season-high 19 kills in a 3-2 win over New Hampshire.

Laura Williamson

Laura Williamson of Colby was named the NESCAC’s Women’s Soccer Player of the Week. She had three goals in two games, including game-winners against Williams and Wesleyan.

Steve Curwen

Bowdoin College junior Steev Curwen was named NESCAC Defensive Player of the Week. He returned an interception for a touchdown in a win over Tufts last weekend.

Christina Rich, Beth Brissette

The UMaine-Machias teammates were named Sunrise Conference Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week. Rich had four goals and one assist for the Clippers while Brissette helped the defense post back-to-back shutouts.

Mike Zeidler

The UM-Machias forward was named Sunrise Conference Player of the Week for a three-goal, one-assist week in two games.

Rob Rochester

Rob Rochester, a forward for UM-Fort Kent, was named Sunrise Conference Offensive Player of the Week. He had game-winning goals in both games over the weekend.

Pat Morgan

A defender for UM-Machias, Morgan was named Sunrise Conference Defensive Player of the Week. He anchored the defense in two Clipper wins.
