BANGOR – With the final presidential debate being held tonight, Elizabeth Edwards, wife of Democratic vice presidential nominee John Edwards, is visiting Maine to talk with voters in Bangor and Lewiston. This is her first trip to Maine during the presidential campaign.
In Bangor, Edwards will host a town hall meeting at 11 a.m. at the Sea Dog Banquet and Conference Center to talk with seniors about the costs of health care and prescription drugs in particular. In conjunction with the town hall, Edwards will meet with members of the Maine Council of Senior Citizens en route to Canada by bus to buy the prescription drugs they need but cannot afford at home.
Doors for the town hall meeting will open at 10:15 am. Though the event is free, a limited number of tickets are available at the Bangor Victory 2004 Office at 56 Main St. or by calling 942-5830.
Edwards will discuss challenges facing working women at 1:30 p.m. at the Lewiston-Auburn campus of the University of Southern Maine. For information or tickets, call 689-2140.
