Veazie police seek burglary suspects

VEAZIE – Police are looking for two men they think are connected to two car burglaries in town.

The men allegedly stole a debit card from one vehicle and a DVD player from a car parked across the street during the late hours of Sept. 29 or early the next morning. Both vehicles were parked in residential driveways on School Street and left unlocked.

“I’m looking for somebody to help identify them,” Veazie police Chief Mark Leonard said Wednesday.

He has photographs and video footage of the two men using the stolen credit card at gas stations and convenience stores from Bangor to Searsport.

“We’ve actually gotten video from quite a few different places,” Leonard said.

The men have purchased mostly cigarettes and lottery tickets.

“They bought cartons and cartons of cigarettes,” the police chief said, noting that more than $200 worth of cigarettes had been purchased at one location.

The men are reportedly driving a silver Volvo station wagon.

“I’ve taken pictures to numerous area [police] departments, and nobody’s been able to identify them,” Leonard said.

He asks that anyone with information about the men’s identities call the Veazie Police Department at 947-2358.
