EASTPORT – Derek Maloney scored three goals to lead the Shead Tigers to a 7-1 schoolboy soccer victory over the Woodland Dragons Thursday.

Aaron Sullivan and Perry Newell each registered a pair of goals for 9-5 Shead. Craig Hastings recorded four saves on nine shots.

Craig Moody scored in the second half for the 4-8-1 Dragons, and played goalie in the first half, as Tom Townsend took over in the second. They combined for nine saves on 18 shots.

East Grand 0, Easton 0

At East Grand, the goalies kept either team from scoring before the game was called early due to darkness.

Ricky Parks, for East Grand, had 12 saves on 12 shots. Jeremy Brock of Easton saved 16 shots on goal.

Old Town 9, Nokomis 0

At Newport, Nate Lonko scored four goals and Tim Niles added three to lead Old Town.

Dillon Clark and Hogan Marquis each added a goal and an assist for the 4-7-2 winners and Andrew Mitchell and Sam Petrie each recorded an assist. Dustin Marley and Petrie combined for eight saves on eight shots.

For 1-11-1 Nokomis, Wayne May made 18 saves on 27 shots.

JV: Old Town 7-1

Ashland 8, Wisdom 1

At Ashland, Buddy Collins scored three goals and assisted on two to lead the Hornets by the Pioneers of St. Agatha.

Jeremy Baker chipped in with two goals and three assists for the 5-7-2 winners and Josh Chamberlin added two goals. Sam Cobb also had a goal and Isaac Ward had two assists. Lucas Belanger made 18 saves on 19 shots.

Randy Thibeault scored off a penalty kick for 0-13-1 Wisdom and Chad Sirois made 20 saves on 40 shots.

Van Buren 4, Washburn 1

At Van Buren, Andy Martin scored two goals as the Crusaders improved to 12-2.

Tyler Lapierre and Logan Ouellette each added a goal for the winners and Andrew Taylor made four saves on 10 shots.

Washburn scored their only goal with six minutes remaining in the game when Adam Thompson converted an Isaac Carney pass.in keeping 12-2 Van Buren from shutting out the Beavers. Jason Thompson made eight saves on 14 shots for 10-3-1 Washburn.

So. Aroostook 12, Hodgdon 0

At Dyer Brook, Travis Brooker scored five goals to lead the Southern Aroostook Warriors to their 13th win.

Tom St. Pierre had two goals and one assist while Zac Austin had one goal and five assists for the 13-1 Warriors. Josh Branscombe added two goals while Charlie Phipps and Jeff Boutilier each had one. Boutilier and Colby Clark combined to stop all 11 shots.

Jordan Quint made 24 saves on 45 shots for the 0-14 Hawks.

Fort Kent 1, Houlton 0

At Houlton, Matt Beaulieu scored the winning goal with 11 minutes to go, on assist from Jared McBrearity.

Derek Plourde of the 8-4-2 Warriors shut out Houlton with 17 saves.

Eben Thompson saved 18 of 19 shots for the 7-6-1 Shiretowners.

Presque Isle 6, Caribou 2

At Caribou, Nate Carter knocked in two goals and Sean Daigle handed out two assists as the Wildcats prevailed.

Greg Whittaker notched a goal and two assists for 12-2 Presque Isle while Andy Greaves, Chris Carlin and Sam Mathers added a goal apiece. Brad Baker made seven saves on 17 shots.

Eamonn Harrigan and Eric Mowatt each scored unassisted for the 7-7 Vikings. Brad Ala and Kyle Damboise combined for 11 saves on 22 shots.

JV: Presque Isle 5-2

Girls soccer

George Stevens 1, PVHS. 0

At Blue Hill, Winslow Brokaw scored the winning goal on a breakaway in the second half.

Jennifer Plourde saved 11 on 14 shots for 11-3 Penobscot Valley of Howland. Kayla Eaton, goalie for 6-5-3 GSA, saved six out of 14 shots.

Dexter 2, DI-Stonington 0

At Dexter, Tania Morales scored off a corner kick and Sabrina Cote added a second-half goal to lead the Tigers who outshot the Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners 44-0.

Lindsay Burton added an assist for the 4-10 Tigers.

Christina Fifield made 18 saves for 1-12-1 DI-S.

Bangor 3, Ellsworth 0

At Bangor, Amy Hackett, Casey Hartley and Erin Porter each had a goal for the Rams in the win.

Erin MacDermott, Emily Heath and Serena Dubois all had assists for 9-5 Bangor. Ilyse Angst faced only two shots and rejected them both.

Katie Cravens and Ashley Oleson had nine saves on 12 shots for the 4-6-4 Eagles.

JV: Bangor 6-0

Winslow 5, Camden Hills 0

At Camden Hills, Brittany Morin scored two goals to lead Winslow. Amanda LaPointe, Liz Cheesman and Katie Caron each added a goal for the winners.

Hannah Brazier, goalie for 11-1-2 Winslow, saved five of six shots. Beth Heron made seven saves on 13 shots for 9-4-1 Camden Hills.

Bangor Christian 1, Central 0

At Bangor, Amber Leathers scored the winning goal 13 minutes into the first half on an assist by Brooke Hale.

Nicole Daniel made 11 saves on 21 shots for the 6-7-1 Red Devils. At the other end of the field, Johannah Kutz saved 13 of 17 shots.

Ashland 3, Wisdom 0

At Ashland, junior goalkeeper Ashley Nemer made six saves on 11 shots to post her school-record 11th shutout of the season and the 25th of her career.

Whitney Flint scored a goal and had an assist for the 13-1 Hornets, Caitlin Sherman and Melissa Cray added a goal each, and Kasey Boyd had an assist.

According to Ashland coach Bill Nemer, it’s a school record for regular-season wins.

Kayla Daigle made 15 saves on 19 shots for the 3-11 Pioneers of St. Agatha.

SAHS 2, Hodgdon 1 (OT)

At Dyer Brook, Audrey Charette scored 16 seconds into overtime to give the Southern Aroostook Warriors the victory.

Brianne McGary scored a first-half goal for Hodgdon but the Warriors tied it with 23:15 left in regulation when Mindy Watson scored.

Charette and Erin Caswell combined for 10 saves on 13 shots for 10-4 SAHS and Heather London made 10 saves on 16 shots for 7-7 Hodgdon.

Houlton 1, Fort Kent 1 (2OT)

At Houlton, Mallory McPartland scored with 23 minutes in the second half for the Shiretowners to force overtime, where the score held up.

Nicole Mason had 16 saves on 20 shots for 4-6-4 Houlton.

Lindsay Cyr had a second-half goal for the 8-3-3 Warriors. Mindy Morneault stopped six out of 10 shots.

Van Buren 1, Washburn 0

At Van Buren, Megan Lajoie scored an unassisted goal in the second half to lift the Crusaders to the win.

Lisa Levasseur needed to make just two saves on five shots for 7-6-1 Van Buren.

Amber Palmer blocked six out of 13 shots for the 7-7 Beavers.

Limestone 2, Fort Fairfield 1

At Limestone, Megan Pelletier scored a first-half goal and added the game-winner in overtime for the Eagles.

Fort Fairfield tied the game in the second half with a goal by Sheena Esancy.

Melanie Allen made 20 saves on 23 shots for 9-4-1 Limestone. Kellie Osgood saved eight out of 11 shots for 7-6-1 Fort Fairfield.
