Regarding the article, “Bear baiting worth millions, study says” (BDN, Oct. 1).

Recently, I read that a processed gall bladder from a bear sells in the Orient for $5,000 (American dollars) and that bile from this same bear is sold in many Chinatown markets all over the United States. Maine is reportedly one of the few states that allows this practice.

I will vote for banning bear baiting.
