MOUNT DESERT ISLAND – Judson Cake of Bar Harbor finished the Mount Desert Island Marathon in 2 hours, 33.01 seconds to win the race and break the course record set last year.
Cake finished ahead of the old record of 2:34.24 set by David Herr of Canaan, Vt., who finished second to Cake this year. Herr’s time was 2:36.55. Simon Isaacs of Washington, D.C., was third in 2:44.23.
Christine Ganz of Mount Desert was the first woman to cross the finish line. She finished in 3:10.02.
