WALTHAM, Mass. – Carly Lochala of New Sharon won her second straight one-hour racewalking title in the junior division at the New England championships Sunday at Bentley College.

Lochala, a senior at Mt. Blue High in Farmington, covered 10,084 meters in the allotted 60 minutes while Boothbay junior Lauren Forgues finished second with 9,576 meters.

Adam Staier, a junior at UMaine-Farmington, battled to capture the men’s title with a total of 11,535 meters, edging veteran Bob Keating of Nashua, N.H., with 11,448. Other Mainers included: 12-year-old Matthew Forgues of Wiscasset (7th, 9,301) and Lisbon High senior Justin Cornell (9th, 9,091).
