MONTVILLE – Two Montville residents were arrested Friday for what law enforcement officials say is their role in the burglary and vandalism of a Montville summer residence last week.
After a search of a home on Route 220, Waldo County Sheriff’s Department officers arrested Abraham Matt, 19, and a 17-year-old boy. Both were charged with one count of burglary and two counts of theft.
The Sheriff’s Department believes the two broke into the Sydney Jones summer home on Gilcrest Lane. The burglary was discovered by a caretaker on Wednesday.
A 1995 GMC pickup was taken from the garage and driven into trees, and a 2002 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle, valued at $18,000, was taken and later found destroyed by fire. Items including a TV and alcohol were taken from the house.
The matter remains under investigation by Detectives Jason Trundy and Greg Stearns.
