ELLSWORTH – The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency has announced that minority farmers in Hancock County may join a new voluntary register to receive outreach materials, newsletters and program announcements from USDA agencies.

The new minority farm register is an outreach tool to reach underserved farmers who are not enrolled in USDA loan, farm, or conservation programs.

USDA will control access to and use of the register. Participating individuals may choose to provide their phone numbers, e-mail addresses, race, ethnicity, gender and farm location. Providing a name and address is obligatory.

The registration form is available at the Hancock County USDA Service Center at 190 Bangor Road, Ellsworth.
