Keefe helps Crusaders conquer Minutemen

BANGOR – George Keefe ran for 143 yards and three touchdowns on 12 carries and scored another TD on a 30-yard pass reception to lead the John Bapst Crusaders to their second football win of the season, 39-6 over Stearns of Millinocket Saturday night.

Kyle Gallant completed four of eight passes for 76 yards, two touchdowns and an interception for John Bapst. Travis Carey had five solo tackles and 13 total while Brian Leighton had four and 11, respectively. Keefe finished with 269 all-purpose yards.

The Crusaders accumulated 371 offensive yards while holding Stearns to 40.

Stearns’ only score came via a 13-yard TD pass from Jordan Burleigh to Ryan Bouchard.

At Dexter, Billy Greene scored two touchdowns, each on 1-yard runs, and rushed 150 yards on 28 carries, leading Dexter to victory.

Greg Knowlton added the final TD for 3-5 Dexter on a 1- yard run in the fourth quarter.

Victor Quint opened the scoring with a 70-yard pass to Marty Quint for a 2-6 MCI touchdown.
