PRESQUE ISLE – Local elections in central Aroostook County are few and far between this November, with only a few communities voting for school and municipal officers.
In Presque Isle, Jennifer Trombley and Walter J. Elish are running unopposed for two four-year terms to the City Council.
In the city’s only contested race, incumbent Barbara Frick Ladner is running against Carol L. Raineri for a three-year term to a Section 8 seat on the SAD 1 board of directors.
Running unopposed for other three-year terms to the board are: Nancy E. Cronkite, Section 6; Curtis F. Culberson, Section 11; Lucy C. Richard, Section 12; Juliet C. Freeman, Section 16; and Paul M. Saija, Section 17.
Polls will be open in Presque Isle 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. at the William V. Haskell Recreation Center at 270 Main St.
Residents in Chapman and part of Mapleton will vote to fill a Section 1 seat on the SAD 1 board of directors. Brent Buck of Chapman is running unopposed for the position. Polls will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Castle Hill Grange Hall on 1953 State Road. In Mapleton, polls will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at Mapleton Elementary School on 1642 Main St.

. Blaine polls will be open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Blaine Town Office on 52 Military Road.
. Bridgewater polls will be open 10 a.m.-8 p.m. at the civic building on 399 Main Road.
. Castle Hill polls will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Town Hall on 94 Town Hall Road.
. Mars Hill polls will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the municipal building at 20 School St.
. Perham polls will be open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the town office on 206 Highmeadow Road.
. Wade polls will be open 8 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Dunntown Advent Christian Church on the North Wade Road.
. Washburn polls will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Washburn Civic Center at 1287 Main St.
. Westfield polls will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Westfield Town Office on 6 Main St.
