DEXTER – A Dexter man was charged over the weekend with burglary, theft and aggravated criminal mischief in connection with two separate incidents.
Joshua Bickmore, 18, is expected to make his initial court appearance on the charges Dec. 15 in Newport District Court.
Bickmore allegedly entered D&K Auto on Spring Street on Oct. 29 and removed about $1,000 in cash from the business, according to Dexter Police Chief Art Roy. Roy said entry was gained through a door in the building.
Dexter police Cpl. Alan Grinnell’s investigation also led the officer to a 16-year-old Dexter male who has been charged in connection with the break-in, Roy said. The juvenile was charged with burglary and theft and his case will be handled by juvenile authorities.
Bickmore also was charged with criminal mischief in connection with the Oct. 19 slashing of 12 tires on three vehicles on Water Street and the destruction of a convertible top on one of the vehicles.
