FORT KENT – A new Web site about the history and cultural heritage of the upper St. John Valley will be launched at 2 p.m. Friday in the Nadeau Hall teleconference room at the University of Maine at Fort Kent.

The public is welcome to attend this free event.

The Web site, “Acadian Culture in Maine,” was developed by the Acadian Archives/Archives acadiennes, hosted by the university, and funded in part by the Maine Acadian Heritage Council. It contains all of the original text, maps and black-and-white photographs of the original 1994 report on Acadian Culture in Maine, and adds more than 110 color images, maps and photographs.

After the official launching, the Web site will be www.acim.umfk.maine.edu.
