ELLSWORTH – A local man is back in jail after he allegedly violated his bail by having drugs in his home, according to police.
Jason Googins, 30, was arrested Friday when police executed a bail search at his home on Red Bridge Road, Ellsworth police Officer Jeremy Cox indicated Monday in a written report. White powder residue was found on a granite tile underneath Googins’ bed, and several pills were found in a mints box in a kitchen drawer, according to Cox.
An officer with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency arrested Googins on a charge of possession of drugs and violating bail conditions, Cox wrote in the report.
According to Hancock County Superior Court documents, Googins is facing charges of unlawful possession of heroin, unlawful furnishing of cocaine, and unlawful possession of methadone in connection with a June 17 incident in Ellsworth. Googins was indicted by a Hancock County grand jury on drug charges last month.
Attempts Monday to contact an MDEA supervisor familiar with the charges against Googins were unsuccessful.
