ORONO – Kevin Forgett scored two goals 56 seconds apart early in the second half Wednesday to lead the University of Maine to a season-ending 3-2 men’s soccer victory over 20th-ranked Boston University in America East play.

With the game tied 1-1, Forgett got the ball at the top of the box from Matt Bernal and ripped a low shot into the left-hand corner of the goal at the 65:15 mark. Less than a minute later, Forgett converted off a corner kick by Adam Chenault, giving UMaine the lead.

Andy Halligan of Falmouth scored his first collegiate goal off a Justin Stockford assist to make it 1-1 in the 58th minute. Chad Mongeon made five saves on 13 shots for the Bears, who ended the season 5-8-3 overall, 2-5-2 in league play.

Brian Conway and Roland Erlichman scored for BU (9-7-1, 6-2-1 AE). Zach Riffett made three saves on 10 shots.

Castleton State 1, Husson 0

At Castleton, Vt., Kurt Hunt scored the lone goal on an assist from Ty Pratt as the home team gained a win.

Joel Leichtnam made nine saves on 17 shots for 15-4-1 Castleton. Matt Goodman saved six of 23 shots for 9-6-1 Husson.
