WASHINGTON, D.C. – Veterans of all military services who fought on, above and beside Iwo Jima will hold a 60th anniversary reunion Feb. 18-20, 2005.
More than 1,000 World War II combat veterans and families are expected to attend the reunion, which commemorates the costliest Pacific battle.
Among the reunion events are a banquet, visits to the Home of the Commandants and the historic Marine Barracks, dedications at war memorials, music by Marine Corps band units and a memorial religious service.
