Outlook: The UNH Wildcats are operating at a 27.1 percent efficiency rate on the power play behind Hemingway’s five goals. But defenseman Brian Yandle, who had seven of his team-leading 10 assists on the power play, received a spearing major at the end of Friday’s 4-3 win over BU and will miss Sunday’s game. Winnik had a hat trick against BU. The Bears have to cut down on their penalties. Maine is 5-0-1 in the last six Alfond Arena meetings between the two. Collins has 4 & 6 against the Bears. Howard is 3-1 with a 1.71 GAA and.949 save percentage vs. UNH, and Damon has 4 & 2. The Wildcats are inexperienced on defense and in goal. Yandle and Teplitsky are the only UNH defensemen who played in more than 22 games last season and goalie Regan is a freshman. Expect Maine’s forwards to create a high tempo and take the body to try to force turnovers and capitalize on UNH’s inexperience. The Bears are just 3-4 at home. Maine has scored only two goals in its last two games.

Outlook: Wayne State returned three of its top four scorers off last year’s 15-15-4 team. Turcotte was College Hockey America’s Rookie of the Week. Zamora was the team’s leading scorer last season with 26 points, and McGrath-Agg led in goals with 15. Wayne State is 3-1-2 in its last six after being thumped twice by nationally ranked Wisconsin to open the season. The Warriors have held opponents to three goals or less in five of those six games. Maine scored only four goals in its first three games. Maine did score six goals in splitting exhibition games against St. Jerome last weekend. Desmet and Brigitte Laflamme lead the Bears in shots on goal with 19 and 11, respectively, but they have just one goal between them. Monk had 33 points and was a CHA All-Rookie team pick at Findlay a year ago and transferred when Findlay dropped hockey.
