Man behind the scenes

With the election over and hopefully things getting back to normal, now is the time to thank an individual who put so much time and effort into fighting and educating voters about Question 1.

Citizens United of Maine was made up of numerous groups and organizations throughout the state. One group was the Professional Firefighters of Maine.

Thank you, Richard Tupper, for seeing the importance in the defeating of this initiative. His many hours of making signs, phone calls, attending meetings in Augusta with Gov. Baldacci, and door-to-door campaigning paid off for not only the state government, but here in Ellsworth.

This is just one of the people behind the scenes who saw a need, took the reins and sparked others into a winning campaign.
