Bangor police raid apartment, arrest couple for second time

BANGOR – For the second time in less than a month, Bangor police on Tuesday raided a Boynton Street apartment where they seized marijuana and took the same two residents into custody.

Police arrested Gary Porter, 55, and Kimberly Morris, 43, and charged them with violation of condition of release and summoned both on a charge of possession of a usable amount of marijuana.

An investigation indicated the couple weren’t obeying bail conditions from their Oct. 19 arrests prohibiting them from using or possessing marijuana and alcohol, according to Bangor police Officer Shawn Green, who obtained a warrant to search the apartment.

Green, Officer Wade Betters and Sgt. Thomas Reagan knocked on the couple’s door and when no one answered they forced their way in, according to the police report.

Porter and Morris were sleeping in the bedroom. Police gave them a copy of the warrant and then searched the apartment.

Green reported finding a bag of marijuana weighing 5.6 grams on a chair beside the bed. A second bag of marijuana weighing 28.5 grams was found in a coat in the living room.

The living room floor was littered with bits of marijuana. Cans of beer, some opened and others full, were found.
