Clark wrapped up his second straight staff championship with virtual ease last week, going 17-3 to finish the campaign with a 164-36 record, a nifty .820 percentage.

Clark, who took staff honors as a rookie in 2003, eased across the finish line nine games in front of runners-up Pete Warner, a six-time winner, and Larry Mahoney, who closed out the season at 155-45 (.775).

Clark also had been the guest winner in 2002 with a perfect 20-0 week.

Dave Barber wound up fourth at 154-46 (.770) and John Holyoke (152-48, .760) was fifth. Jessica Bloch, Joe McLaughlin and Andrew Neff finished in a three-way tie for sixth at 147-53 (.735), and Jim Goodness (138-62, .690) was ninth.

The 2004 guest champion is Bob Lucy of Bangor, who went 17-3 in Week 2. Chuck Shepley of Bangor had a 16-4 effort in Week 5, while Robert Stevens of Dover-Foxcroft (Week 1) and Vinny Soucy of Hampden (Week 4) and Free Martin of Bangor (Week 6) were all 15-5.

The rest of the guest performers: Dave Ingalls, Holden, and Steve Bell, Dexter, 14-6; Ben Gray, Brewer, Randy Hutchins, Holden, and Marty Clark, Old Town, 13-7.
