Finger-lickin? good?

If you like your chicken saucy, sign up for a tasting at the University of Maine?s consumer testing center, an arm of the department of food science and human nutrition. The tests will evaluate chicken breasts cooked with four different sauces made from all-natural ingredients. In exchange for your time (15-30 minutes) and opinions, you?ll receive either a 120-minute phone card or, if you?re a frequent tester, points toward a gift certificate. The evaluations will take place from noon to 4 p.m. today in 158 Hitchner Hall on the UM campus in Orono. For information or to volunteer for a test, call 581-1733, or e-mail consumers.test@umit.maine.edu.

Turkey 101

Flipping out over the bird? Don?t fret ? it?s in the bag. Jennie-O recently unveiled its Oven-Ready Whole Turkey, which cuts prep time to an absolute minimum. The cleaned, giblet-free turkey goes straight from freezer to oven without defrosting. As a bonus, you don?t need to touch the raw bird, because it comes in an oven roasting bag. Jennie-O turkeys are in grocery stores now. For more information or recipes, visit www.jennioturkeystore.com.
