What a treat awaits those who attend the ninth annual Christmas is for Kids Country Music Show & Auction at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at American Legion Post 207 on Route 3 in Trenton.

Country musician Tom Salisbury of Ellsworth is understandably excited about the event, which features a lineup that country music fans will love.

Disc jockey Billy Charles of LUCKY, 99.1 FM, and The Bear, 104.7 FM, will greet the likes of “Doc” Morrill & the Down Home Country Band; Country Discovery recording artists Stevie and Deb Cee; Maine artists Everard Dodge and Roseanna Rogers; Gray Label artist Gary Mitchell; A.L. & A Misfits; and special guest Nashville artist Andrew Dean of Nite Sky records.

In addition to the entertainment, the auction, raffles and a 50-50 drawing, the event features a teddy bear sale with Linda Griffin, offers free refreshments and, if you want, you can purchase hot dogs and soda.

Salisbury, also known as DJ Tommy Dean, hopes for a great turnout at this event for which admission is your cash or check donation, and reminds you that all proceeds will help needy children in this part of Maine enjoy a much happier and brighter Christmas season.

Eastern Maine Die Cast Association, whose members throughout the year collect die cast toys such as Matchbox cars for needy children, are hosting their Fall Die Cast and Collectible Toy Show, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. today and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, at Airport Mall in Bangor.

Club president Jerry Snow of Brewer invites you stop by, say hello, and help the children.

Free toys, for as long as they last, will be available for youngsters, Snow said.

Skiers and riders at Sugarloaf/USA can participate in the Ski Maine Association 18th Tin Mountain Round-Up today and Sunday, Nov. 20 and 21, in Carrabassett Valley.

With a donation of three cans of food, skiers and riders receive a $21 lift ticket.

All collected food will go to the United Methodist Economic Ministry of Salem.
