SEA ISLAND, Ga. – Bangor’s Jesse Speirs will compete this week in the American Junior Golf Association Polo Junior Classic beginning today.
The event moves to Sea Island Golf Club along the Georgia coast. The top junior golfers in the world descend upon the Seaside and Plantation courses, each hoping to add their names to the storied list of previous champions. Tiger Woods, Stewart Cink and Grace Park claimed the Polo Golf Junior Classic title during their careers.
The tournament features two days of stroke play for 168 players. The field then is cut to 32 boys and 32 girls to determine the winner of each division through match play.
