Happy Thanksgiving!

We give thanks today for the many blessings in our lives and for the opportunity to gather with family and friends for this very special holiday.

Thanks go out to more contributors to the Santa’s Helper Fund. Monies collected into the Fund go to the Salvation Army so that it may provide the very basics of a Christmas holiday – food, clothing and toys for the children – to the less fortunate in our communities.

Contributing today are: In loving memory of Bob Seavey by his wife, Maxine, and daughters, Eleanor and Roberta, Bangor, $40; the Martin family, Corinna, $25; Marjorie Sommer, Bangor, $50; Miles Adams, Brewer, $20; Beverly Mabee, Blue Hill, $10; and John and Charlene Brownlee, Patten, $100.

Also donating to the Santa’s Helper Fund are Dorothy and Frank Cole of Old Town VFW Post 338, “in memory of veterans that would give had they not given their all,” Old Town, $100; Myrtle Chaffey, Eastport, $25; Ken and Phyllis Chambers, St. Albans, $50; Doris-Ann Gray, in memory of Frank E. Gray, Milford, $50; and Modern Screenprint Inc., Bangor, $100.

Today’s gifts bring the Santa’s Helper Fund total to date to $7,794, representing about 15 percent of the fund’s goal this year.

Donations may be sent to Santa’s Helper Fund, P.O. Box 1329, Bangor, ME 04402-1329. Donors’ names and dollar amounts will be published in the Santa’s Helper column daily. Donors who prefer to remain anonymous will be listed as such, followed by their donation amounts. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
