HOULTON – An unidentified man was sent to the hospital and another was arrested on an assault charge following a bar brawl early Thanksgiving morning, according to Houlton police Chief Dan Soucy.
Brian McKissisk, 31, of Orient was charged with the Class D misdemeanor after police received a call at about 1 a.m. Thursday concerning a bar fight at the Lounge Down Under on the North Road in Houlton.
Cpl. Dana Duff and Officer Troy Fitzpatrick of the Houlton Police Department responded to the call. The officers were assisted at the scene by members of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Department.
“When officers arrived, the combatants had moved outside,” Soucy said Thursday. “They separated the parties and identified the victim of an assault violation.”
The assault victim was taken to Houlton Regional Hospital for abrasions around his eyes and nose.
McKissick was taken to the Houlton department where he made bail, set at $250 cash.
The incident is under investigation by Houlton police.
