Veazie police probe abuse of 6-year-old

Veazie police are investigating a case of reported sexual abuse between a 13-year-old boy and a 6-year-old boy.

The mother of the 6-year-old came into the Veazie police station Wednesday to report the incident, which “was not a recent thing,” according to Veazie police Officer Keith Emery.

The officer said the two children knew each other but didn’t have any other details about the alleged abuse. Emery said charges are pending medical evaluation and discussion with the Penobscot County District Attorney’s Office, but could come some time next week.

A Houlton man apparently left the State Street Big Apple on Wednesday night without paying for $29.15 in gas that he had pumped.

A clerk from the gas station called police at about 6:15 p.m. and gave Bangor police Officer George Spencer a description of the vehicle and the license plate number. The clerk said the man was “fiddling” with the pump, possibly attempting to pay for the gas with a credit or debit card, Spencer’s report said.

The officer ran the information, which came back to Michael Fasulo, 57, of Houlton. Spencer said he called a number listed in the phone book for Fasulo and left a message regarding the incident.

A Glenburn man was charged early Wednesday morning with disorderly conduct after a neighbor reported he was being loud and the neighbor wanted him removed from the premises.

Called to a Sandy Beach Road home about 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, Sgt. Bill Birch of the Penobscot County Sheriff’s Department spoke to the neighbor who said that Preston Harris, 25, was being disruptive at his home and refused to leave.

Harris kept returning to the neighbor’s home while Birch was trying to talk to them, despite being given criminal trespass and disorderly conduct warnings. He did leave, returning to his parents’ home just up the street, where Birch said Harris remained disorderly, loud and vulgar.

When he again refused to quiet down, Birch arrested Harris at about 12:15 a.m. and charged him with disorderly conduct.
