A film about South Africa’s post-apartheid Truth and Reconciliation Commission will be shown early next month at the Unitarian Meetinghouse, and a Washington County minister born in South Africa will lead a discussion afterward. “Long Day’s Journey into Day” is a film by Frances Reid and Deborah Hoffman. They describe the movie as a documentary designed “to give you an intimate look at a country’s attempts to heal itself with truth as the balm.” It will be shown at 6 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2, at the meetinghouse, 16 Shackford St. The Rev. Lehlohonolo “Henrietta” Montjane, pastor of Blakey United Methodist Church in Eastport, grew up in the Johannesburg region and will lead the post-viewing discussion. Call 853-2326 or 853-2633.
