Photographs documenting the work of Susan Watkins, a hospice nurse at Kno-Wal-Lin Home Care and Hospice, are on display at Penobscot Bay Medical Center in Rockport. The images, “Mind, Body, Spirit: Hospice in Maine,” are by John Clarke Russ, who completed the project as part of his master’s degree in photojournalism. Russ spent time talking, listening and taking pictures in Watkins’ office and in her patients’ care setting, such as their homes, assisted living facilities and at PenBay Medical. He is now a staff photographer for the Bangor Daily News. The exhibition will run at PenBay through December. It will be at the Belfast Free Library in January and at the Skidompha Library in Damariscotta in February. In the spring, it will move to the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland and the Hutchinson Center in Belfast. Call 594-6715 for PenBay information.
