BANGOR – At its meeting on Nov. 22, United Way of Eastern Maine campaign cabinet members drew the names of the five finalists who will have the chance to win a 1963 Mercury Comet convertible.
The classic car was donated anonymously earlier in the year to help draw extra attention to this year’s annual campaign and the work of United Way to address issues and aid people in need in the Greater Bangor area.
Community members entered to win the car at United Way presentations and events prior to Nov. 15.
The five finalists are Mark J. Thibodeau of Bangor Airfoils, Lori Levasseur of Brewer Hannaford, Floyd Libby of MAC Financial, Royal Taylor of Central Maine Power Co., and Mac Roach of Seaboard Federal Credit Union.
After the meeting, the five finalists were called and informed that their names had been drawn. The finalists will attend the United Way campaign finale event in January, where each will be given a key. Only one key will start the car. The person with the winning key will drive the car away.
