Bar Harbor Bank & Trust announced recently several administrative changes including the hiring of Daniel A. Hurley III as president of Bar Harbor Trust Services and senior vice president of the company.

Hurley has more than 30 years of banking experience, most recently in Essex, Conn. He has a bachelor’s degree in economics from Providence College and a master’s in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The bank also promoted Tara Hart to mortgage originator for the Blue Hill area and hired Melissa Gray as mortgage originator for the Rockland branch.

Hart has been with Bar Harbor Bank & Trust for two years. She previously worked as front desk manager for the Ramada Inn in Bangor and is a graduate of Husson College.

Gray was most recently a mortgage underwriter with Rockland Savings and Loan. She attended the University of Maine Presque Isle and received training from the Maine State Housing Authority and the Federal Home Administration and Underwriting School.

Finally, Faye Allen has been promoted to customer service manager in the Ellsworth Branch, moving from her position as supervisor of the customer call center. She is a graduate of Litchfield High School in Connecticut and has completed several bank training courses.

First Citizens Bank in Presque Isle recently announced the promotion of Cindy Thibeau to management associate. She has more than 20 years of banking experience, 11 with First Citizens where she has served numerous capacities.

The bank also welcomed back Sherry Clark as a personal banking officer in the Presque Isle office. She has 21 years of banking experience and also is president of the Fort Fairfield Chamber of Commerce.

Harold Stewart II has been appointed to the board of directors of Katahdin Bankshares Corp. and its subsidiary, Katahdin Trust Co.

Stewart has operated a law practice for the past 15 years and is a longtime resident of Presque Isle. He holds a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Maine and a Juris Doctorate from Capital University Law School in Columbus, Ohio.

MaineShare recently hired Hildie J. Lipson of Wayne as executive director. She previously worked as the campaign coordinator of MaineShare, a funding cooperative for 36 statewide nonprofit organizations that raises money and awareness for its member groups through annual workplace giving campaigns.

Terri Couture of Orono has been awarded a Child Development Associate credential in recognition of her work with young children at the Good Samaritan Agency in Bangor.

Varney Agency, an insurance company with 15 branches throughout Eastern Maine, recently appointed Melony LeShane vice president.

LeShane has more than 20 years of experience in the insurance industry, is a chartered property and casualty underwriter and is president-elect of the Maine Chapter of the CPCU Society.

Union Bankshares Co., parent company of Union Trust, announced the appointment of Karen W. Stanley to its board of directors. Stanley, co-owner of Stanley Subaru in Ellsworth, has a long corporate career that includes experience with Citibank N.A. She sits on several boards, including the board of trustees for Maine Coast Memorial Hospital, and is president of the board of directors for Hospice of Hancock County.
