AUGUSTA – The Maine Public Utilities Commission has issued RFPs, or Requests for Proposals, for retail standard offer service for medium and large commercial and industrial customers of Maine’s two largest investor-owned electric utilities, Central Maine Power Co. and Bangor Hydro-Electric Co. The company’s total sales to these customers in 2003 were 5.8 million megawatt-hours with about 34 percent on standard offer price.
Suppliers chosen through this process will provide standard offer service for a six-year term beginning March 1. Initial bids are due at the commission by Dec. 15.
