When Steele speaks …

In her Nov. 25 letter, “Steele vs. O’Reilly,” Aileen Holman states she’s “edgy” about Dr. Erik Steele’s column, but reads it to get a different perspective on things.

Dr. Steele speaks for the neediest. Perhaps that is why Holman is edgy. His so-called “vendetta” against the drug industry is legendary and valid, and if that sounds vindictive, then so be it.

That industry is so out of tune while they enjoy profit margins more than four times as great as most other industries. They accomplished this with buyouts of political figures and taxpayerfunding of much of their research. Why would anyone speak in support of these corporate scavengers?

I agree with Holman’s comment, “I don’t remember reading anywhere about any charges being filed against [Bill] O’Reilly.” However, I read where he made financial agreements to quash his exposure.

Holman complains that Steele isn’t open-minded. Our country is being misguided by secretive hawks, most of whom ran when there was a possibility they might be involved in a war not of their making. A president who has yet to attend one single funeral for any of the soldiers who died in his oil war claims God told him to do it.

Not my God. God help us all, don’t send us into war ever again. As a combat veteran, I can tell you there’s nothing worse.
