Members of the Stockton Springs Business Association invite you to the third annual Enchanted Christmas beginning at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 12, along Main Street in downtown Stockton Springs.

Cynthia Wells reports that “local businesses will have ornament making” beginning at 1 p.m., and that Santa Claus will be on hand from 2 to 4 p.m. at Penobscot Bay Gallery.

Hayrides around town will be offered from 1 to 4 p.m., just in time for the tree lighting and carol singing at 4:30 p.m.

Then, it’s time for the big bonfire, to be held at 5 p.m. at Purple Fleece on School Street, to conclude the activities of this Enchanted Christmas.

The association also will have food collection boxes where you can make donations of nonperishable food items for those in need.

The entire event is free, but any and all donations will benefit the business association’s scholarship fund.

Cindy Greenacre and members of Dollars for Scholars of Hampden Academy invite you to “Breakfast with Santa,” 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in the cafeteria of Reeds Brook Middle School, 28A Main Road South, Hampden.

Pancakes, sausage, fruit and beverage cost $2.50 per person or a maximum of $10 for a family of four or more.

You can purchase sweet breads at a bake sale and have photographs taken with Santa Claus for $2 each.

Funds raised go toward college scholarships for students in the program.

Theresa Boettner and members of First United Universalist Church of Sangerville hope you enjoy a Procrastinator’s Holiday Fair and Bake Sale, 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the church.

She reports “last-minute holiday shoppers will be delighted to find a selection of many fine, affordable, locally crafted and prepared holiday gifts,” and wants you to know that no goods or services cost more than $20.

Breakfast and lunch will be available, and you also can enjoy a relaxing chair massage.

Bangor Museum and Center for History Director Linda Jaffe invites you to Weihnachtsmarkt, a traditional German holiday market, noon-3:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, at the museum, 6 State St., Bangor.

The German Club of Bangor hosts the market where you can purchase traditional German Christmas cookies, stollen, decorations and toys.

A cafe with coffee and cake, along with demonstrations of German traditions that influenced our holiday celebrations, will be featured.

“Images of New England/Visions of Bangor,” the museum’s current exhibit, will be open as well as its Golden Fleece Gift Shop, featuring holiday gifts, books, toys, jewelry and Maine-made products.

Admission is free.

You are invited to celebrate the 90th birthday of Carl McKusick during an open house, 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 11, in the Fellowship Hall of Guilford United Methodist Church on School Street.

Guests are asked to join in the fun by bringing a memory to share, but no gifts, please.

Rich Kimball will host the Brewer Youth Theatre Holiday Spectacular at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, at Brewer Middle School, 5 Somerset St.

Featured performers include Maine humorist Joe Bennett, Tom Leonard and The Harmonaires, Brewer Middle School teacher Tom Burby, accordionist Nancy LaMarre, Brewer pupils Khalan Bridges and Koby McVey and pianist Clayton Smith.

Proceeds benefit Brewer Youth Theatre.

In Wednesday’s column about Health Services Foundation’s fourth annual Diamond Raffle, I typed 2 when I should have typed 1 for the 1-carat center oval diamond with two side rounds totaling 1.5 carats and valued at $8,000.

Raffle tickets are $20 each and are available, in Houlton, at Goodrich Jewelry, Aroostook Milling, F.A. Peabody Co., and the Health Services Foundation office and Houlton Regional Hospital gift shop, both in the hospital.
