Benjamin loves to talk, play sports

Six-year-old Benjamin, or “Ben” as he prefers to be called, is a very adorable and engaging child. He enjoys playing sports and successfully completed his soccer season earlier this fall. Ben also really enjoys playing tee ball and swimming.

Ben is a first-grader who strives to do well in school and has a true desire to learn. On the social side, he likes to be part of a team and generally does very well.

Ben usually maintains a happy-go-lucky demeanor and often is very empathetic toward others. Like many children, he can become anxious at times and is working on learning appropriate behavior in social situations with the help of his foster family and his individual counselor.

Ben would be most successful as the youngest child in a two-parent home. His adoptive parents should have patience, a sense of humor and experience with children who have some behavioral issues.

Ben loves to talk and to be the center of attention. His adoptive parents must be able to listen to him and still be able to set consistent guidelines for him. Ben has been able to maintain contact with his older sibling through monthly visits, and it is important for that contact to continue after Ben’s adoption is completed.

Subsidy may be available for the most appropriate family.

Ben is one of 218 Maine children currently in the care of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services care who is seeking an adoptive family. For more information about Ben or other children available for adoption, please contact A Family for ME at (877) 505-0545 or visit www.afamilyforme.org.

Based in Gardiner, A Family for ME is a nonprofit program that works in collaboration with Maine DHHS to find foster and adoptive families for Maine children in care.
