Upon their return from the field, fellow soldiers stationed in Iraq really enjoy watching DVDs, U.S. Marine Lance Cpl. Jason Palmquist told his aunt, Sherri Carrow of Hampden, in an e-mail. But, he added, many do not have them.

Palmquist, however, has several DVDs: About 120, in fact, “and everyone here borrows them from me, daily,” he wrote.

“It’s like Blockbuster in my office,” he added.

Palmquist lends so many movies that he has to keep track of them on his computer.

During a recent instant message between aunt and nephew, Carrow asked Palmquist what she could do for the troops and what they need.

“He told me they would all love to have DVDs to watch on laptops,” Carrow explained.

He said they gather together and watch a movie and that watching movies helped them get their minds off of the war.

So, for her nephew and his fellow soldiers, Carrow is asking readers to donate new or used DVDs to help our troops.

She has discussed this with her nephew, and he is willing to have you send the DVDs to him.

His address is LCPL Palmquist, Jason, G.; 2D RECONNAISSANCE BATTALION, H&S Company, Comm S-6, Unit 76675, FPO ARE 09509-6675.

Let’s just hope that Lance Cpl. Palmquist has a mail slot large enough to hold all the DVDs you send!
