BANGOR – The Husson College women’s basketball team rolled to two North Atlantic Conference basketball victories over the weekend at Newman Gym, evening their record to 4-4.

The Eagles trounced Bay Path of Longmeadow, Mass., 97-36 Saturday and pounded Wheelock of Boston 87-31 Sunday.

On Saturday, Jodi Merchant and Annie McIntosh each scored 14 points for the Eagles. Crystal Martin netted 12, while Holly Gracie added 11. Tiffany Hartshorn chipped in 10.

Meaghan Cauley led Bay Path with 10 points.

On Sunday, Merchant again paced the Eagles with 17 points. McIntosh added 15 points, Martin put in 12 and Carmen Ballard chipped in with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Samantha Cummings scored 21 points for Wheelock.

Maine takes two

At Orono, junior Cheryl White led the Black Bears with two goals in each game as the Black Bears beat Quinnipiac 5-1 on Saturday then again on Sunday.

On Saturday, Tristan Desmet, Amy Quirion and Sonia Corriveau added a goal apiece. Karine Senecal, Julie Poulin and Brigitte Laflamme each notched a pair of assists. Rachel Gettings made 15 saves.

Gillian Gallagher scored for the Bobcats with assists from Katherine Dallimore and Karrah Stephen. Catherine LeClare totaled four saves in the first period and Janelle Wolitski had 28 saves in her two periods of work.

On Sunday, Andrea Steranko, Poulin and Sunstrum contributed a goal each. Desmet also had two assists. Gettings made 15 saves as Maine improved to 8-5-2.

Natashia Pellatt scored for 2-13-2 Quinnipiac off assists from Stephen and Jayne Riley. Wolitski made 25 saves in her effort.
