MACHIAS – Five players scored in double figures for the Woodland boys basketball team as the Dragons earned a 78-59 victory over Machias Saturday in high school action.
Brandon Tomah led Woodland with 15 points and Chase Smith netted 12. Tyler Harriman, Aaron Ellis and Adam Knowles each chipped in with 11 points.
James McCarthy scored 13 points and Cory Brooks added 12 for the Bulldogs.

Ted Fabian knocked in two goals for the 0-1 Eagles of Oakland, while Burt Marston had a goal and two assists. Garrett Mosher and Phil Mason each scored once. Mike Hachey and Zack Parent combined to stop stopped 16 of 23 shots.
Orono 3, Old Town 0
At Alfond Arena in Orono, the Red Riots scored twice in the final two minutes of the game and outshot the Indians 66-6 in the win.
John Tuell scored twice and Chad Sanborn once for Orono. Jared Buzzell shut out the Indians with six saves.
J.P. Stowe made 63 saves on 66 shots for Old Town.
