CALAIS – Karin Bird made five free throws and Dana Harrington hit a pair of baskets in overtime as Lee Academy sent Calais to its first season-opening loss in 19 years, 73-65 over the Blue Devils Monday night.

Shelby Pickering led the Pandas with 21 points, while Bird had 15 and Harrington and Aarika Ritchie scored 10 points each.

Emily Smith led Calais with 26 points, including 10 in the fourth quarter as the Blue Devils rallied from an eight-point deficit to forge a 63-63 tie at the end of regulation.

Danielle O’Brien added 15 points and Courtney Taylor scored 11 for Calais.
