EASTON – Jacob Bacon, a sixth-grader at Easton Elementary School, won the school-level competition of the National Geography Bee on Tuesday. Bacon will take a written test in order to qualify for the state bee, which will be held on April 1.

EASTON – Jacob Bacon, a sixth-grader at Easton Elementary School, won the school-level competition of the National Geography Bee on Tuesday.

Bacon will take a written test in order to qualify for the state bee, which will be held on April 1.

Up to 100 top scorers on the test will compete.

The winner of the state bee will receive an all-expenses-paid trip to Washington for the national bee May 24-25.

The first-place national winner will receive a $25,000 scholarship and a lifetime membership in the National Geographic Society.
