Bradford’s 49 pace Calvary past the Eagles

ORRINGTON – Brock Bradford lit up the new scoreboard in Calvary Chapel Christian Academy’s new gym for 49 points as the Sabers opened their new home with a 92-75 boys basketball win over Greater Houlton Christian Academy Thursday night.

Brandon Scovil and Ian Seekins each added 10 points for the winners.

Drew Farrar led the way for the Eagles with 25 points. Emery Lincoln tallied 22 and Silas Lilly 12

At Hermon, Ben Adams led the Hermon Hawks with 11 points and 15 rebounds as they withstood a big fourth quarter rally by the Golden Bucks.

Chris Harding had 12 points and Mike Pellerin scored 10 for Hermon.

Ben Rum scored 14 for the Bucks, who outscored Hermon 24-12 in the final quarter.

Derek Smith scored a goal for 1-0 Foxcroft. Logan Forrest, Dustin Colby, and Ian Imbert each had an assist. Dan Perkins stopped 22 of 23 shots.

Freshman Spencer Pelkey scored his first goal for 0-1 Stearns of Millinocket as Jay Kim made 51 saves on 54 shots.

At Howland, Shelby Pickering registered 18 points to lead the Pandas to the win.

Smith put up a shot at the buzzer and missed, but was fouled. She made the first free throw for the win and finished with a game-high 18 points.

Danielle O’Brien chipped in with 13 points for the winners and Tracie Eagan added 11.
