This last weekend before Christmas will find many people hurrying around with last-minute shopping to do, gifts to wrap and parties to attend. As you check your list of things still to do, consider the Santa’s Helper Fund. Any gift, large or small, will be greatly appreciated and will help us meet our goal of raising $50,000 for The Salvation Army. Today’s donations bring our total to date to $38,412.47.

Thanks go out today to the Bangor Emblem Club 223, Bangor, $50; Anonymous, Bangor, $25; the employees of Ross Express, Bangor, $40; Wayne and Anne Lawton, Bangor, $100; Woodrow and Margaret MacDonald, Millinocket, $15; Anonymous, Bangor, in memory of Bim and Traci, $20; and Rex and Nona Sibley, Bangor, in memory of our parents, $25.

Donations also came from the Star in the East Chapter 17 OES, Hampden, $100; Weston and Carmela Bubar, Hartland, $50; the Comins family, Bangor, in memory of Karen Achorn-Ingalls, $25; Robert and Joyce Adams, Millinocket, in memory of Bobby from Mom and Dad, $25; and Anonymous, Brewer, $100.

Rounding out today’s gifts are contributions from Les, Wendy, Lauren and Paige Plissey, Hermon, in memory of Adam F. Plissey, $25; Anonymous, Hampden, $60; and ACA-Chez-Nous Party and guests, Old Town, $20.

One donor’s information in Wednesday’s paper should have read: Peggy and Charlie Sisson, in memory of Burton Spinney, Winterport, $25.

Thanks to all who have contributed, and thanks to those who are considering a donation to the Santa’s Helper Fund. Your gifts are greatly appreciated and will go a long way toward making Christmas brighter for many needy families in our region.

Donations may be sent to Santa’s Helper Fund, P.O. Box 1329, Bangor 04402-1329. Donors’ names and dollar amounts will be published in the Santa’s Helper column daily. Donors who prefer to remain anonymous will be listed as such, followed by donation amounts. Thank you in advance for your generosity.
