LAPLUME, Pa. – The University of Maine-Fort Kent men’s basketball team lost a pair of games at the Keystone College Classic tournament over the weekend.
The Bengals dropped Sunday’s consolation game to Marymount College 72-54, as Evan Martin led the winners with 26 points. Bartas Samaitis scored 20 points for UMFK, while Chad Gervais scored 14 and Bill Russo added 12.
In opening-round play Saturday, host Keystone placed five scorers in double figures to earn a 78-62 win over the Bengals. Andre Stone led the winners with 14 points, while Jajuan Davis scored 13. Samaitis led UMFK with 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Gerevais and Russo each added 15 points.
