DOVER-FOXCROFT – Police on Monday were investigating a second break-in in the community in the past two weeks.

Scott Whilhite, who runs a garage on Route 15, reported Sunday that someone had entered his building and had taken $200 and two checks made out to a local business. The items were taken from a cash register in his office, according to Police Chief Dennis Dyer.

Nothing else appeared to have been touched, Whilhite told police.

Dyer said it appeared that the back door to the business had been dismantled for entry.

Anyone who may have seen any activity at the business between Saturday night and Sunday morning is encouraged to call his department at 564-8021.

Dyer’s department also is investigating the theft of approximately $2,000 taken from Scooters on Dec. 12. No forced entry was found at the business on the Milo Road and police have few leads.
