MACHIAS – The Machias girls basketball team outscored Narraguagus 20-12 in the second half, made three free throws in overtime, and got key contributions from Christi Holmes and Beryl Lipton in a 49-46 schoolgirl victory Monday night.

Holmes racked up 18 points, 17 rebounds and four steals for Machias, while Lipton tossed in 13 points, tallied 10 steals and grabbed seven rebounds.

Elizabeth Grant led Narraguagus of Harrington with 14 points and MaryEva Tenan followed with 13.
